October is the month the schedule stops making sense: a game, a class party and a trick-or-treat route, often on the same weekend.
This is the list I keep for it. Referee and soccer-ball costumes for the adults who get roped in, coach costume kits, ghost and spider sweatshirts that work for a chilly sideline as easily as for a party, cardigans and layers for the fall run of games, and a handful of divided trays and bento boxes for when the team treats land on you.
It is a long list and it gets added to through the season, so it is worth a look again closer to the end of the month.
