Sibling Survival Essentials
What I pack for the one who is not playing — waterproof blankets to sit on, wearable blanket hoodies for the early games, picnic mats big enough for the whole family, and quiet things to do that are not a tablet.

Four hours at a field is a long time for someone who did not sign up for any of it.
Most of this list is comfort first, because a cold, uncomfortable little one is the thing that ends a day early. Waterproof blankets that can go straight on wet grass, wearable blanket hoodies for the 8am games, picnic mats big enough that nobody has to sit on the ground. Then the quiet things — watercolors, coloring sets, small toys — for the gap between games when there is nothing happening.
The no-tablet part is deliberate. It is not a rule in our house so much as a recognition that a tablet at 9am means a much harder afternoon.
It runs to dozens of items and gets added to through the season.
