The Ultimate Tournament Weekend Packing List
Everything to pack for a two-day, four-game soccer tournament — the car, the cooler, the sideline and the hotel — as a checklist you can tick off on your phone or print and stick on the fridge.

A tournament is not a game with extra steps. It is two days, usually four games, often an hour from home, with gaps of three hours in the middle where there is nothing to do and nowhere with shade. What you pack decides whether that is pleasant or miserable.
Here is the full list, and the handful of things that do the heaviest lifting.
The three that earn their space
Everything below packs small and gets used at every single game, which is a higher bar than it sounds.
Collapsible Camp Stools (Set of 2)
Two folding stools with carry straps, light enough to bring alongside a full-size chair. Small footprint, quick to set down.
Stanley IceFlow Tumbler, 30 oz
A 30 oz insulated stainless tumbler with a twist-on lid, a flip-up straw and a carry handle. Leak resistant and BPA-free.
Stainless Steel Snack Containers (4-Pack)
Four leakproof stainless containers with silicone lids and four compartments each. Dishwasher safe, and sized for a bag rather than a lunchbox.
The stools are the surprise of the three. A full-size chair is better for the ninety minutes you are actually watching, but between games you need somewhere to put a tired kid, and a stool that weighs nothing and clips to a bag solves that without a second trip to the car.
Pack the car the night before
Not the morning of. The morning of is when you discover the wagon is still in the garage and somebody cannot find a shin guard.
Load in this order and you will not have to unpack to reach anything:
- Canopy first, flat along the back
- Chairs on top of it
- Cooler last, where you can reach it without moving the rest
- Bags on the seats, not the trunk
Feeding people for two days
Four games across two days is more food than one cooler run. The trick is packing things that do not need a plate.
Freeze water bottles and use them in place of ice packs — they keep everything cold on the way there and are drinkable by the second game. Portion snacks into compartments before you leave, so nobody is digging through a bag with muddy hands.
If there is a younger sibling
The little one did not sign up for this and is stuck there for both days. A bag packed specifically for them, and not shared with anyone, is the difference between a long weekend and a very long weekend.
The Little-Sibling Busy Bag
A curated list of what goes in the bag for a younger sibling: snacks, wipes, a coloring book and crayons, small toys, bubbles, a blanket and a change of clothes.
The hotel part nobody warns you about
Two days of mud, one hotel room, no washing machine. Bring a laundry bag that zips, spray every stain before it goes in, and open the cleats up to the air instead of sealing them in a bag overnight. There is a full method for the stains if the uniform is white.
Print it and stick it on the fridge
The list below is the whole thing. Tick it off on your phone as you pack — it remembers where you got to — or hit print and use a pen like a normal person.
